All rooms are beautifully appointed - many have microwaves and kitchenettes. All have frosty air-conditioning to help you cool down after a day in the heat of Mount Isa`s sun....

All rooms have wireless broadband (wifi), tv's with Austar, tea and coffee making, ironing boards, hair dryers, desks and extra chairs for seating. All rooms are Non-smoking, but there is space to smoke outside. There are interconnecting suites - that actually make a three bedroom executive suite. Should you require Disabled Access Facilities, we have a specially equipped room available upon request. Sorry, pets are not allowed in Rooms.

The Abyssinian Cafe has developed a great reputation for fine dining.  Our Restaurant has been featured on SBS Television.

The Abyssinian Cafe is open daily serving breakfast, lunch and diner.

The Restaurant is open to the general public, and guests of the Townview Motel can charge-back meals to their room and room service is available upon request. This is a Licensed Restaurant where you can enjoy a drink served with your meal.

The Abyssinian Cafe features traditional Ethiopian Cuisine as well as the full range of traditional Australian Meals. We also offer Indian Food.  So, for those that like it hot and spicy, we have exotic meals to dazzle your tastebuds. At the same time, if you're looking for hearty meals with typical Australian Foods you won't be disappointed.

Owner, Almaz Taye (Leila) Cashmore has lived in Mount Isa for more than 20 years. Leila came to Mt Isa with her Australian mining engineer husband David (they actually met in Sudan).  Apart from developing a far reaching reputation for cooking; Leila is a keen golfer and has even scored a hole in one at the Mount Isa Golf Club.

Although the basic ingredients for Ethiopian dishes are the same as those used for Australian recipes, Ethiopian food is distinguished aromatic and flavour rich spices. Almost all Ethiopian dishes are homemade, including unique spice blends. The staple foods of most Ethiopians are a spicy sauced dish called Wot and Injera, an unleavened bread, usually prepared from Teff flour.
